How AI Renewable Solutions collects, uses and looks after your personal information.
Who we are
AI Renewable Solutions (ABN 16 700 727 608) sells and installs solar, batteries, EV chargers, heat pumps and air conditioning across Victoria. This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, install and support your system. This may include:
- your name, phone number, email address and postcode
- your property address, property type and details about your roof, switchboard and energy use
- copies of energy bills or meter data you choose to share with us
- photos and notes taken during a site visit or installation
- records of our calls, emails and messages with you
- payment and invoicing details
How we collect it
Most information comes directly from you: when you call us, send a message through our website form, email us, or meet us on site. Our website form stores the details you enter so we can respond. If you would rather not give us certain information, we may not be able to quote or complete the work accurately.
How we use it
- to respond to your enquiry and prepare a quote
- to plan, install, test and hand over your system
- to arrange grid connection, warranties, rebates and certificates
- to provide maintenance, repairs and after-sales support
- to issue invoices and keep business records
- to meet our legal and safety obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Who we share it with
We only share information where the job requires it, or where the law requires it. Depending on your installation, this may include:
- your electricity distributor, for grid connection and export approvals
- the Clean Energy Regulator or a registered agent, for small-scale technology certificates
- Solar Victoria or other government programs, if you apply for a rebate or loan through us
- equipment manufacturers and suppliers, for warranty registration and claims
- energy safety regulators, for compliance certificates
- service providers who host our website, email and business systems
Some of these service providers may store information on servers outside Australia. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.
How we keep it safe
We store information in secure systems with access limited to the people who need it. We keep it for as long as we need it to support your system and meet our legal obligations, generally up to seven years for business and tax records, and then delete or de-identify it.
Our website
Our website uses Google Analytics, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and when an enquiry is sent. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your device, browser, approximate location and the pages you visit. It does not tell us who you are. You can opt out using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and pages visited, for security and maintenance.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
